BUSINESS
ARISING
As
Mike Rogers was unable to attend the meeting, the issue of estimates for the
concrete repair was deferred to the next meeting.
Bernard
spoke to Edward Slade of Slade’s Funeral Home regarding the plowing of the
cemetery and asked him who is responsible for any damage incurred. The Town of Carbonear clears all cemetery
roads in the town when necessary for a funeral, however they are not
responsible for any damage. Bernard stated that this was acceptable to him as
the Town does this as a courtesy and they do not intentionally cause damage to
the roads.
Rose
Mooney sent a letter to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul dated March 10, 2008
thanking them for their donation to the Parish in February, 2008.
Anastasia
Furey attended the March 4, 2008 meeting concerning the Senior’s Resource
Centre and the possibility of opening an office in the area. Rose Mooney attended the following meeting
and reported that their will be a small satellite office opened in the area
staffed by volunteers which will be a place for senior citizens to get
information on resources they may need.
Monsignor
Bromley reported that the Mass of Chrism was held in Grand Falls - Windsor as
scheduled, however Eugene Hurley & Nellie Merrigan could not attend due to
weather conditions. The oils were
brought to our parish by Father Mike Barker who was in attendance.

There
was some discussion regarding the need for a Fundraising Committee to keep

future to try and resolve the issues.

continue.
