BUSINESS ARISING
Gerard will be meeting with the Diocesan Committee for the 150 Anniversary of the Diocese on Monday, September 12, 2005. A committee will be formed within the parish by the end of September.
Anastasia has not completed the list of priests buried in the parish as requested by the Diocese. She will do so as soon as possible.
The Irishtown property that was donated to the parish has been sold by the process of tender and highest bidder. The purchase price was $12, 536.36. The sale is now being finalized by Bill Finn.
Gerard reported on a special meeting held on June 22, 2005 with two members of the Monsignor McCarthy Knights of Columbus regarding their request for a transfer of land located at St. Clare Avenue and Gunner’s Pond Road. After some discussion and since the Knights of Columbus are not interested in the transfer of just one property, Ray moved that Parish Council write a letter to Monsignor McCarthy Council, advising them that we have looked at their request for the sale and transfer of the property bordering Monsignor McCarthy Council building on Adelaide Street and the 177 acre property on Gunner’s Pond Road surrounding Camp McCarthy, and that having discussed the request at three previous meetings, we are unable to come to a consensus on the transfer at this time. However, we are always willing to have another look at the request if requested to do so by Monsignor McCarthy Council. In particular, if Monsignor McCarthy Council were considering any major projects that would require that they have possession of these properties, we would be more than willing to have another look at the situation. Seconded by Frank. Motion carried.
Jim will discuss cemetery maintenance with Roy Clarke about ordering some fill for use in the cemetery.
There has been no response from the Eastern School District regarding the St. Joseph’s School building. Vandalism is still occurring. Gerard will bring this to the attention of the school district office.
NEW BUSINESS
Ray, vice-chair of the Parish Council, has agreed to form a parish committee to help plan the celebration of the 150th Anniversary of the Diocese.
The Annual Thanksgiving Day Craft Fair will take place on Monday, October 11, 2005 at the Knights of Columbus. Volunteers are needed for the set up on Sunday, October 10. Requests for volunteers will be made through the bulletin.
The Annual Fall Bazaar will be held on Thursday, November 17 and on Sunday, November 20, 2005 at the Knights of Columbus.
Since there are several new families in our parish, we will acknowledge and welcome them during Mass and through the parish bulletin beginning October1, 2, 2005. In the future the council will consider setting up a Hospitality Committee.
COMMITTEE REPORTS

There has not been a Liturgy Committee since the last Parish Council meeting. The next meeting is scheduled for September 14, 2005.
