The 2005 Interfaith Cemetery Association is represented as follows:

 

Bethany United Church: Milton Peach (Chair), Johnny Clarke (Vice-                   chair) and Roy Saunders

St. James Anglican Church: Harold Laing (Treasurer) John Colbourne (Secretary) and Rex Cotter

St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church: William Finn (Past Chair) Pat Merrigan and Boyd Riggs

 

As your representatives, we continue to strive to make physical improvements to our property, and this past year we did further landscaping.

 

Since the cemetery was consecrated in May 2000, we have had 77 burials. For the year 2005 the burials from Bethany were 12; St. James 5; and St. Patrick’s 3.

 

A brief look at our financial side shows that as of December 31st, 2005 our Bank Balance was $5531.00. A further breakdown of our Income and Expenses are as follows:

Income – assessments           Bethany              $1750.00

                                                St. James                  $855.00

                                                St. Patrick’s          $680.00

Additional income of $595.00 HST Rebate and $385.00 in Memorials was received.

Expenses – landscaping $312.80, Director and Officers Insurance $975.50 and $2000.00 for caretaker’s contract.

 

As a result of increased operational cost, our assessment for the year 2006 has been set at $7.50 per family. This is less than the agreed original rate of $10.00 per family.

 

In conclusion, on behalf of our Association, I wish to thank the three Churches and Boards/Parish Councils for their continued support, as their committee members manage the Interfaith Cemetery for all the families that we serve.
